Blessing of the Holy Door

Pope Francis has announced the Jubilee Year of Mercy beginning with the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Dec. 8, 2015 and concluding with the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
King of the Universe, Nov. 20, 2016. At St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, a door will be dedicated as the Door of Mercy through which pilgrims may enter to embrace God’s mercy and to dedicate themselves to being merciful.

Our own St. Francis de Sales Church has been selected by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as a Holy Door pilgrimage site. On Sunday, Dec. 13, we will be dedicating a Door of Mercy at St. Francis de Sales Church at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend!

The church will be available throughout the Year of Mercy for pilgrimages on the following days and times: Mondays – 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; Tuesdays – 7:30 a.m.-7:15 p.m.; Wednesdays – 1:00-6:00 p.m.; Thursdays – 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Pilgrims are encouraged to participate in the regularly scheduled activities that take place during those times (i.e. prayer groups, adoration, Benediction etc.), as well as to use the quiet times for prayer and reflection. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee will provide us with prayer booklets for pilgrims.
