\"diane\"<\/a>For several years, Diane Stenus has quietly gone about\u00a0her \u201cjob.\u201d She is one of the unsung volunteers you like to
\nhear about…doing one of the church duties that you might\u00a0not even think about until you read it here.\u00a0Every two or three weeks, Diane comes and picks up\u00a0the altar server robes and takes them to a laundromat. She\u00a0washes and dries them to make sure that they are looking\u00a0sharp at all times. How did this come about?<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI wanted to do something for our church, and I was in\u00a0the office one day and heard that the person responsible\u00a0was no longer able to this job. I thought to myself, I can\u00a0do that!\u201d Diane said.<\/p>\n

The Altar Society recently replaced all of the altar\u00a0server robes due to the material being worn and of a type of\u00a0fabric that could not be ironed or starched to help the\u00a0appearance look fresh. Because of the variety of heights of\u00a0the servers, different sizes were purchased. The new\u00a0garments are monastic albs with hoods. There are new\u00a0colored cinctures (cords) to match the liturgical season, as\u00a0the former ones were looking frayed.<\/p>\n

Diane is soon \u201cretiring\u201d from this volunteer position.\u00a0If you (or you and some friends) would like to take this on,\u00a0it would be very much appreciated. Please contact the\u00a0parish office if you are interested.<\/p>\n
