Join us as we read and discuss Christopher Carstens’ book “A Devotional Journey Into the Mass” and learn “How Mass can become a time of Grace, Nourishment and Devotion”. Covid-19 has changed all of our lives and not being able to attend Mass for several months may have left you or your family members asking questions like, “What’s the difference between being in Church at Mass and watching it live-streamed on You-Tube, except that we can’t receive Eucharist?” Or, “Why should we go back to Mass – it seems so boring and we’ve managed all these months without it?” Christopher Carstens can change the way you look at Mass starting with how and where you enter Church to making the Sign of the Cross and preparing your Heart at the Offertory all the way through the Dismissal. It’s been easy for some of us to become complacent, watching Mass on TV/Internet, in our PJ’s with a cup of coffee. Take the journey with us and have a renewed sense of the sacredness and beauty of the Masss.
We are still finalizing details and will keep you updated but as of now we do know we will be meeting Monday evenings from 7-8 p.m. at the Parish, probably in the Parish Center and on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30 a.m. again in the Parish Center to allow for proper social distancing. Our hope is to also do a ZOOM session simultaneously at both sessions so those not comfortable with “in house” meeting can still participate. We are hoping to have 20 copies of the book available at $4-$5 each but you can also order from Amazon or Sophia Institute Press yourself. We anticipate starting the classes the end of September finishing the end of November, just before Advent. We will update you about dates and meeting place for “in house” in a week or two so look for the updated information in the bulletin.
