Second Collection to Benefit Local Families

Side by Side, a local, all volunteer non-profit organization, will be the recipient of the second collection during the Labor Day weekend masses. In its 13th year of operation, families in the Lake Geneva School District are helped with rent, utilities, and prescription medication. While there is no typical family that applies for assistance, many people seek  help due to the loss of a job, a health crisis, or an unexpected financial event. Sie by Side helps to keep individuals and their families in their homes, and the lights, gas and water turned on. For many, Side by Side is their last hope. Sided by Side also provides information about other community resources such as local food pantries, the clothes closet, energy assistance, and Salvation Army. A new program, Financial Coaching, strives to help clients develop goals to better understand their finances.

Business meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 715 Wisconsin St. at 8 pm. Anyone interested in learning about the organization is invited to attend. Individuals and families in the Lake Geneva School District seeking assistance with rent, utilities, or prescription medication are welcome to apply for help on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 PM at the same location.

Your financial assistance is greatly appreciated! Volunteers are always welcome as well. To learn more about Side by Side or about becoming a volunteer, call Sue Bulla, at 262-248-4130. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
